SESSION DESCRIPTION
This two-day workshop is designed for Microsoft IT Academy teachers who already have a good understanding of MSITA resources and where they are located. In these two days teachers will be guided through steps for creating quality lessons that prepare students for certification and have the opportunity for a better understanding of Word, Publisher and PowerPoint. In addition to training in the content, participants will receive a roadmap for teaching this portion of the course using a blend of resources from Microsoft Lesson Plans, eLearning, and resources shared by teachers or adapted or developed for ExplorNet.

This session is well suited for teachers who have already attended an ExplorNet 'Getting Started in MSITA' session.  Others are also encouraged to attend.  Participants should already have their Microsoft ITA name and password and should already understand how to access resources for teaching and testing students.

Lead instructor Paige Haney teaches Microsoft at Academy at Ashley High and led MSITA training during Fall 2011. Her focus will be on giving teachers a customizable plan of action, helping them prepare to take the exams themselves, and showing effective ways to prepare students for certification. Participants will receive detailed task analyses and organized resources.

The workshop is Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30. Each session begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends by 3:30 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch.

Participants should bring their own MSITA login information.  If possible, we recommend they take at least one appropriate Certiport exam before attending in order to better understand the discussion of certification and testing.
